Hi!!

I'm sorry for such a long absence!! You can call me a lier cos I wrote on the last post that I was gonna be back blogging on September....but it's almost the end of October (well technically we still have 8 days though)!!

If you would let me explain, I was REALLY busy. I submitted my dissertation to Leeds Uni on 25th of August, then I attended Leeds Festival from 26th to 28th, and the very next week I went to London for a week to find a place to live, came back to Leeds, went to farewell parties, drinking, gigs, applied jobs, drinking, gigs, packed my stuffs and moved to London....

Yes, I used to live in Leeds and now I'm living in London. I moved to London at the end of September and since then I've totally got lost. I've been to some gigs here, saw Turbowolf, Ruins Alone, Bo Ningen, Bitches and Trumpet of Death so far, they were really great. But unfortunately, I still haven't got friends to go to gig together so I went to see them on my own. What a poor music lover I am!! I should have talked to people at the gigs. But I was so scared, because, to my not-yet-undiscriminating eyes, all people there looked so cool and fashionable, and they looked like people in know rather than fans. So this made me feel like I shouldn't talk to them cos they are living in the different world of me and they may think of me like oh what the hell is this strange Asian girl?? (because of my fashion, make-up and broken English). And also, London is massive. I've been checking gigs here but there are too many venues and events, so I tend to give up checking listings on the half way and apparently I'm missing some great opportunities. Anyway it's still been a month since I moved to London, so I'll get used to my new life and make many friends (hopefully). But nowadays I do miss those good days I went to gigs with my friends in Leeds. The atmosphere of gigs in Leeds were always nice and welcomed, the audience was observed by music of their favourite bands and they showed their love to the bands. I also enjoyed talking with bands after their gigs.

Yeah, I do miss music scene in Leeds.

Well, so much for preliminaries, let's move on the point of this post. When I was living in Leeds I saw many cool local bands and I want to introduce them on the next post. I have 5 bands which I really want to introduce you in m mind, but it could be more. I'll do my best to do posts as soon as possible so please keep peeping this blog!! (oh sorry, the main body was less than the preface....)

長い事ブログ放置していてすいません。９月にブログ再開するとか言っておきながら、もうすぐ１０月も終わってしまうそんな時期に．．．

ちょっといい訳させてもらうと、とにかく忙しかったのです。８月２５日にリーズ大学に卒論を提出して、その次の日からリーズフェスティバルに３日間行って、次の週からロンドンでこれから住む場所を探して、リーズに戻ってお別れ会だのギグだの飲みだのいろいろ行って、そうこうしてるうちに荷造りしてロンドンへ移る日になって．．．．

ということで、リーズからロンドンへ移住しました。９月の終わり頃にこっちに引っ越してきたんですが、それ以来もう完全に迷子状態です。こっちに来てからギグにも何度か行って、これまでTurbowolf, Ruins Alone, Bo Ningen, BitchesとTrumpet of Deathを見に行って、全部良かったものの、こっちに来てから一緒にギグに行ってくれる友達がいなくて全部一人で見に行って．．．なんとも寂しい！！！ギグに来ている人たちに話しかけて友達になればいいものの、まだロンドンの音楽シーンには新入りの私にとってその場にいる人たちはみんなクールでファッショナブル、ファンというよりはみんなバンドの友達とか知り合いに見てて、みんな私のなんか違う世界に住んでるんだから話しかけるべきじゃないのよ．．．的な思想に見舞われて話しかけられず。なおかつ話しかけたら何このへんなアジア人？？って思われそうで（私のファッション、メイクにつたない英語のせいで）勇気が出ずじまいでした。さらに、ロンドンは広すぎる。ギグ情報を集めていても、ベニューやイベントが多すぎて途中で調べるのも放棄、結局いいチャンスも逃している感が否めない．．．そうは言っても、まだロンドンに越してきてから１ヶ月、この新しい生活にも徐々に慣れて、友達も（願わくばすぐ）できることでしょう。でも最近、リーズで友達と一緒にギグに行った日々が恋しいです。リーズでのギグの雰囲気はいつもいい感じで歓迎されてる感があって、オーディエンスは自分の好きなバンドの演奏に酔いしれて、そのバンドがいかに好きかを表現していて。ギグの後にバンドと話ができるのもすごく楽しかった。

そう、リーズの音楽シーンが本当に恋しいのです。

長い前振りはこのくらいにして、ブログの本題に入りましょう。私がリーズに住んでいる間、かっこいいローカルバンドをたくさん見ました。なので次のポストからそのバンドたちを紹介していきます。今のところ５組紹介したいバンドがありますが、もっと増えるやも。できるだけ早く記事をアップするので、ブログをちょこちょこのぞきにきてください！！（メインより前振りの方が長くてすみません．．．）

They came to play at Live At Leeds the end of last month, but I couldn't make to see them because I was watching Jon Fratelli about the time they played....hope they will come back to Leeds soon!!

イギリス、レスターシャー出身の３ピースバンド。1998年結成。現在までに、５枚のアルバムをリリース。先月末にリーズで行われた、１日で１００以上のバンドがプレイするLive At Leedsというイベントでヘッドラインだったんですが、私はジョン・フラテリが演奏する会場に先に入っていて、そしたら演奏時間が１時間も遅れてしまって結局Young Knivesは見れませんでした．．．ものすごい楽しみにしてたんだけど．．．でもジョン・フラテリかっこ良かったからいいや。次のギグには絶対行けますように！！
